Post-motor filtration:

Today many vacuum cleaners have filters positioned between the motor and the exhaust opening. This post-motor position is important for capturing fine particles that are generated by the vacuum cleaners motor. However, if air is not directed through the post-motor filter, the filter cannot be successful at capturing fine particles.

Miele's original Advanced Emission Guard:
Improperly sealed vacuum cleaners allow air to escape through various non-filtered openings. The Miele vacuum cleaner is completely sealed. Individual compartments and the system as a whole are all sealed with one continuous durable rubber gasket. This Advanced Emission Guard sealed system protects against leakage and ensures maximum possible air flow.

HEPA filters:
Filter names such as "HEPA-like" and "micro-filtration" can be misleading. To be called HEPA a filter must prove 99.97% effective at capturing particles 0.3 microns and larger in a test environment. But even a true HEPA, filter cannot succeed at capturing these particles if it is placed in a machine that leaks. Only Miele provides a true HEPA filter with post-motor positioning in conjunction with its Advanced Emission Guard sealed system. This unique combination makes the Miele vacuum cleaner capable of capturing practically all dangerous fine particles.

How it works.

A. Air enters through the floor nozzle and travels up the hose to the bag.

B. Air emitted from the bag moves through one filter and into the sealed motor chamber.

C. Air moves directly from the motor chamber into the post-motor filter.

D. Air exits through the post-motor HEPA filter which traps fine particles.

E. Air released from the Miele is almost totally free of particles 0.3 microns and larger.

F. The bag and motor compartments are completely sealed with one continuous rubber gasket.

G. Miele's unique rib system helps maintain powerful flow as air moves through the vacuum cleaner, even as the dust bag fills.
