A Nancy Zieman Scarf Project
Presented by:OK Sewing & Vacuum Center
Instructions:

Note All seam allowances are 5/8" (1.5 cm)

SUPPLIES:

1/2 yard (0.50 m), Polar Fleece, or other, high-loft fleece, & Thread to match

A note from Nancy:

For a ighter scarf, substitute lightweight, drapable, or sheer fabrics. Increase the width of the scarf to 11" (28 cm) at the wide end and 7" (18 cm) at the narrow end.

1. Cut and mark the fabric
cut two pieces of Polar fleece measuring 40"
(102 cm) long. Taper them from 9" (23 cm) wide at one end to 5" (12.5 cm) wide at the other.

Working from the wrong side, place marks 8-1/2" (22 cm) from the narrow end near the seam edges.

3. Clean-finish the neckline area. Machine stitch 5/8" (1.5 cm) from the edge between each mark.

Clip to the stitching line at each mark.

Fold the seam allowances to the wrong side between the marks. Top stitch along the fold, using the presser foot as your guide.

4. Fold the scarf, right sides together, aligning the 9"
(23 cm) ends. Stitch from mark to mark, pivoting at
the corners. Grade seam allowances and trim the
corners.

5. Turn the scarf right side out and press. Topstitch along the edge, using the presser foot as a guide and aligning this stitching with the topstitching in Step 3.

6. To wear the scarf, wrap it around your neck and pull the wide end through the loop.

We will be posting new
projects so stay tuned!
